I have spent close to $10,000 trying to get rid of my facial hair.
Yes, this also includes the neck area so I guess for 10k that’s quite a steal. The problem is, I’m not even really close to being done. I’ve tried electrolysis and laser hair removal. I’ve done one, then moved to the next. short sessions and long sessions. But I am not rich and sadly have not been able to continue to a point where either have gotten rid of enough hair to prevent me shaving every single day.
And then begins, every morning, the process of covering up the very subtle shadow those pesky hairs leave on my chin and lip.

For laser hair I have too much grey and red hair in my face for it to be effective. For electrolysis, it’s simply just a long, painful, and expensive process I don’t have the ability to keep up with at this point in my life.
With the prospect of feminization surgery on the horizon, this is something I think of maybe too much. I know that facial hair is not an indicator of being a man or being a woman, I just don’t like mine. But, I no longer want to wait to finish the painful and expensive and seemingly never-ending process of facial hair removal before doing SOMETHING ELSE I want for myself.
I want to be able to experience the joy of my lips and nose and chin looking like I want on my own schedule, not on how frequently I can come up with $80 for half hour appointments for the rest of time. I don’t want to wait for 80 when I have already waited for 45.
Electrolysis will again be needed for a different area of my body should surgery lower down on my body become the next priority and for that one I have no choice but to fulfill the hair removal obligation. But for now, I shave my face and apply my makeup.
